Provided is a solar battery base formed by a drawn film having a composition of a thermoplastic crystalline resin and inactive particles. At least one side of the solar battery base has a center plane average surface roughness Ra in the range of 30 to 500 nm and an average interval S between local crests on the surface in the range of 40 to 5000 nm. Thus, the solar battery base has a surface which can obtain the light trapping effect. When the solar battery base is used as a base of a thin-film solar battery, the solar battery can exhibit an excellent photoelectric conversion effect.
