PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that precise and stable opening and closing of a contact of a membrane switch are precluded due to dust existing between the membrane switch and a support structure therefor. SOLUTION: The key switch device 130 includes: a key top 134 arranged so as to move in an elevating direction on a base 132; a guide supporting member 136 which guides and supports the key top 134 on the base 132 in the elevating direction; a switch mechanism 138 which opens and closes the contact of an electric circuit in response to elevating motion of the key top 134; and a support plate 140 arranged in a lower portion of the switch mechanism 138. The switch mechanism 138 includes: a membrane switch 152 which makes a pair of contacts 148 face each other; and a domical actuating member 154 which closes both contacts 148 with the lowering motion of the key top 134. In the region of the vicinity of the contacts 148 in a domical open end 154b of the actuating member 154, a gap 160 is formed between the support plate 140 and the membrane switch 152.
