<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a power transmission device for a vehicle equipped with an electric differential section in which a differential state between an input shaft revolution speed and an output shaft revolution speed is controlled by a motor, the control device for the power transmission device for the vehicle being capable of suitably shifting the operating state of the motor into an operational region when the operating state of the motor is beyond the operational region. <P>SOLUTION: The control device for the power transmission device for the vehicle is provided with a differential restriction means 76 for restricting the differential action of the differential section 11, and the differential restriction means 76 is operated when the operating state of the first motor M1 is beyond the operational region, whereby the operating state of the first motor M1 is quickly shifted to the operational region.
