<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-face display type liquid crystal display in which bright and favorable reflection display with no coloring can be performed whenever either one or another face is used as a display screen. <P>SOLUTION: First and second liquid crystal elements 10A, 10B each having a liquid crystal layer held between a front substrate 11 as the observation side display and a back side substrate 12 are disposed in the opposite directions with the back faces opposing to each other. Absorptive polarizing plates 16 and 17 are disposed in the front side of the first liquid crystal element 10A and in the front side of the second liquid crystal element 10B, respectively, and a reflective polarizing element 18 which reflects one polarization component out of two different polarization components of the incident light and transmits the other polarization component is disposed between the first and second liquid crystal elements 10A and 10B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
