PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a temperature rise in the periphery of a tapered fiber.
SOLUTION: An optical fiber part 100 is provide with an optical fiber 140 having: a main fiber 110; a tapered fiber 120 connected to the tip of the main fiber; and a small-diameter fiber 130. The core diameter of the tapered fiber 120 decreases along an optical axis. A heat-radiation silicone adhesive 150 that is a highly heat-conductive material having heat conductivity of 4W/mK is applied to the entire area of the outer circumference of the tapered fiber 120 and a part of the small-diameter fiber 130 next to the tapered fiber. An incident end of the optical fiber 140 is connected to a semiconductor laser having an output power of 10W not shown. Light output from the semiconductor laser propagates through the optical fiber 140 and output from the output end 141. A part of light that has propagated through the main fiber 110 and entered the tapered fiber 120 is output through the cladding of the tapered fiber 120. Heat generated by light radiated from the cladding is transferred through the heat-radiation silicone adhesive 150 and radiated.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
|
