PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensile tester capable of measuring objectively and accurately a tensile load of a tear strip by a method similar to pulling by manpower at various angles, and to manufacture a corrugated cardboard box having superior balance between opening property and strength, or the like. SOLUTION: This tester includes a holding part 2 for holding a test body, comprising a paper material on a prescribed position; a chuck 4 for folding back and gripping a start end part of the tear strip T formed on the paper material; a tensile device 3 for pulling the tear strip T gripped by the chuck 4 to the folding-back direction; and a measuring device 5 for measuring a load necessary for cutting the paper material by pulling the tear strip T.
