<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pearl pigment exhibiting high brightness and high chroma, particularly a pearl pigment achieving high brightness and high chroma while using a small and flake-like substrate with a small mean particle diameter. <P>SOLUTION: The pearl pigment in which a flake-like substrate surface coated by a multi-layer coating layer with at least two layers of a metal oxide layer containing one or two metals selected from the group consisting of Ce, Sn, Ti, Fe, Zn and Zr. The pearl pigment contains 1 or 2 or more of the laminated unit where the lowest layer of a multi-coated layer is a metal oxide layer containing a metal selected from the group consisting of Ce, Sn and Fe, and the multi-coated layer comprises a metal oxide layer containing Sn, and a metal oxide layer containing Ti which comes into contact with the upper surface thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
