PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power amplifier of a transmitting section of a portable terminal unit or a radio base station, wherein an envelope signal is made to match a peak of a power amplifier supply voltage particularly to improve power efficiency of the transmitting section. SOLUTION: The power amplifier has a bandwidth limitation process circuit which receives an envelope signal included in a transmission signal as input and performs a bandwidth limitation process on the envelope signal, and a variable power supply circuit for generating a voltage control signal by the bandwidth limitation process circuit and generating a power amplifier supply voltage based on the voltage control signal. The supply voltage generated by the variable power supply circuit is a drain voltage supplied to the power amplifier or a collector voltage.
