ANION EXCHANGE MEMBRANE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anion exchange membrane used for producing edible salt, improving concentrating performance without increasing electric resistance as compared with those of conventionally used membranes.

SOLUTION: This anion exchange membrane is characterized by filling a copolymer having at least chloromethylstyrene and divinylbenzene as copolymerization components into the pores of a porous substrate material consisting of a polyolefin, irradiating an ionizing radiation and then introducing a quaternary ammonium group. The anion exchange membrane is also characterized by filling a polymerizable monomer mixture containing at least the chloromethylstyrene having a functional group capable of introducing a quaternary ammonium group and the divinylbenzene into the pores of the porous substrate material consisting of the polyolefin, performing thermal polymerization, irradiating the ionizing radiation and then introducing the quaternary ammonium group. The method for producing the membrane is also provided.
