PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for playing back videos with subtitles capable of preventing degradation of a processing rate when continuously selecting subtitle sentences; a method of playing back videos with subtitles; and a program. SOLUTION: A control part 23 of a mobile phone 1 determines operation information supplied from an operation part 22, and determines whether it is operation information for setting a mode to a continuous subtitle transmission mode wherein predetermined subtitle sentences are selected and the subtitle sentences are continuously transmitted. When it is the operation information for setting the mode to the continuous subtitle transmission mode, the control part 23 does not play back videos corresponding to the selected subtitle sentences.
