[Class 132 (iii)] A toy animal, doll, puppet or like figure or part thereof is made of a resiliently-deformable material and has embedded therein a skeleton which is partly non-resiliently-deformable and partly non-deformable in order that the figure may be distorted at predetermined parts thereof and held in the desired distorted posture. The skeleton may be formed of separate parts jointed together or hingedly connected. Preferably the skeleton comprises a structure of non- resiliently deformable material with reinforcements or rigid attachments which will prevent the figure from being bent at any except certain specified places. The resiliently-deformable material may be natural or artificial rubber or a synthetic resin such as polyvinyl chloride. Sponge rubber or other expanded form of the resiliently-deformable material may be employed and it may have a smooth skin of the same or similar stretchable material applied thereto. The non-resiliently-deformable material used for the skeleton may be copper, soft iron or other ductile metal wire. If desired, the resilientlydeformable material may be moulded into one piece on to the skeleton as described in Specification 631,305. According to the Provisional Specification, the skeleton may be flexible throughout. The body may also be made from a thermoplastic substance which is normally stiff or rigid but by heating is brought to a condition when it can be bent into various shapes. Such a body can be provided with a skeleton comprising a number of rigid or stiff members with gaps between adjacent members so that the body, when subjected to heat, can only be bent at the gaps. |
