<p>A projection display device comprising an illumination module (100; 200; 301) and at least one projection lens (304) for projecting light from said illumination module (301) onto a projection screen (305) is provided. The illumination module (100) comprises at least two lighting units (103, 104), each comprising of a light emitting diode (113, 114) and a collimating funnel (130, 140) arranged in front thereof. The output areas (132, 142) of the two funnels are at least partly overlapping.
