<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a printer without installing a printer driver, peculiar to the printer, into the client computer. <P>SOLUTION: An installer 106 is recorded in USB memory 10. In terms of setting information 109, a model number 110 ("MU-AS12") of the USB memory 10 and a printing terminal ID 111 ("5555") are recorded. A user PC 200 installs a general-purpose printer driver 107 etc. from the USB memory 10. When receiving printing instructions from a user, the user PC 200 refers to the setting information 109, generates an EMF file 300 wherein the printing terminal ID is included in a header, and stores the EMF file 300 in the USB memory 10.
