Detector devices and method for detecting surface defects

The device has fiber-optic light guides arranged in a plate and/or band-shaped light guide housing (3). A light source e.g. LED-light source, and a light detector e.g. charge coupled device (CCD) sensor, are arranged at a proximal end of the housing. A scanning opening (10) is provided at a distal end of the housing and extends over a part of a width of the housing. The opening is moved over defect holes. Two light guide arrangements are provided over a partial length of the housing such that the arrangements are respectively provided as lighting and detection fiber-optic light guides (4, 5). An independent claim is also included for a method for detection of surface defects of limiting surfaces of gasp with small gap width.
