A computer implemented method for receiving wireless information on a portable computing device, wherein the wireless information is transmitted to the portable computing device with respect to wireless addresses, the method comprising:
providing a list of wireless addresses on the portable computing device, wherein each address corresponds to selected information to be received, and wherein each address includes an associated status entry indicating enablement of the address; and selectively enabling and disabling the status entry for the wireless address to allow receipt of the corresponding information as a function of an operating parameter of the portable computing device.
