A polyamide composition including (a) at least one polyamide other than nylo n 2,2, or a copolymer of at least two polyamide repeating units, neither of which is nylon 2,2, (b) melamine cyanurate, and (c) a nucleating agent such as nylon 2,2 in an amount effective to cause nucleation of the polyamide of (a), has good flame retarding properties and relatively short set-up times in molding processes.
