FUNCTIONAL HONEY USING PROPOLIS EXTRACTS

Functional honey and a preparing method thereof are provided to prevent the discoloration during a desiccation process and to show the nutrient component of honey as well as the effective component of propolis extract. A method for preparing functional honey comprises the following steps of: collecting and selecting honey bee larvae; freeze-drying the honey bee larvae at 25-40 degrees below zero and pulverizing them; and mixing 10-20wt% of powdered honey bee larvae with moisture content of 15 ~ 20%, 1-3wt% of propolis extract and 80-90wt% of honey. The honey bee larvae represents 9 or 15-day-old mature honey bee larvae. 4 or 12-day-old worker bee larvae can be used.
