The heat exchanger has a collecting tank comprising an inlet opening (10). Cooling fins are arranged between flat tubes, which are fluidically connected with the tank. A guiding element is arranged at a wall of the tank such that a medium i.e. coolant, flow entered over the inlet opening is segmented into partial flows (a-d). A region of the inlet opening is partitioned into cylinder orifice cross-sections (10a-10d). The guiding element feeds partial flows flowing through the cylinder orifice cross-sections to groups (20a-20d) of flat tubes.
