PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in case the cube of MS is conducted in a tandem mass spectrometer, a unit structure becomes larger and a cost increases, and similarly it is more difficult in case of a plurality of MS/MS analyses. SOLUTION: In a collision chamber, an electrode for forming a harmonic potential is arranged and fragment ions generated in a first collision induced dissociation are captured. Out of the captured ions, next target ions are emitted selectively by an axial direction resonance excitation. The excited ions are excited in an axial direction and exceed the harmonic potential and a second collision induced dissociation takes place. Moreover by an addition of an operation for returning ions into the harmonic potential, a plurality of MS/MS analyses can be conducted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
