PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively constructing a material library constituted by a plurality of materials. SOLUTION: The method ((b) and (c)) for constructing the material library includes constructing two or more material libraries (15 and 16, or 15' and 16') on one substrate (12 or 13) with a method including a deposition step. Materials contained in at least two material libraries among the material libraries contain at least one common component. The method also includes depositing at least one component (A) among the common components on the substrate in one deposition step (the first deposition step), for at least two material libraries (15 and 16, or 15' and 16') which include the material containing the common component (A).
