The present invention relates to an AMIGO (i.e. amphoterin-induced gene and ORF) knockout animal such as mouse, which exhibit enhanced locomotor activity. The present invention is directed to a method for screening substances for treatment of neuropsychiatric diseases by the use of a mouse having a defective AMIGO, a tissue, or a cell of said mouse.
