METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING TISSUE SLICE BY MICROTOME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a tissue slice by a microtome which prevents the tissue slice from being curled and can apply improved further treatment to the tissue slice, and an apparatus for mounting a support material on the tissue slice.

SOLUTION: A tissue slice forming method using the microtome is constituted so that the tissue slice (34) having predetermined thickness is formed from a block (3) having a tissue sample (4) by the microtome and the support material (2) is mounted on the block (3) by a mounting mechanism (6) before the tissue slice (34) is formed and characterized in that the support material (2) is cut into a dimension and/or a shape substantially fitted to the transverse section (7) of the block (3) before mounted on the block (3) and the cut support material (35) is mounted on the block (3).
