PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbo equalization apparatus, capable of appropriately allocating the number of times of repeating decoding, according to the communication situation for each turbo equalization process, and which can exhibit superior processing performance. SOLUTION: The turbo equalization apparatus, which performs turbo equalizing processing by using an error-correcting code applying a repetition algorithm for decoding, comprises: a turbo equalization part for performing turbo equalization processing on input data; a decoding part for repeatedly performing decoding processing of the error-correcting code on the output data from the turbo equalization part; and a processing determining part for estimating the amount of reliability improved by decoding processing each time decoding processing is repeated, interrupting the decoding processing due to the decoding part and shifting to processing of the turbo equalization part, when the estimated amount of the reliability improved is smaller than the criterion, and continuing the decoding processing due to the decoding part, when the estimated amount of reliability improved exceeds the criterion.
