PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination unit which suppresses color-tone variations in a plurality of light sources, using a simple constitution, and to provide an image reader, equipped with the same and image forming apparatus equipped with the same. SOLUTION: In the illumination unit 62, in which a plurality of light sources 76 irradiating a document surface 64a with illumination light are arrayed into a line shape, between neighboring light sources 76, a regulation member 88 is disposed which regulates the emission angleα1 of illumination light, emitted from the light sources 76 directed toward the document surface 64a.
