<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protective device capable of suppressing entrainment of a pedestrian by a vehicle even when the pedestrian collided with the vehicle is thrown out in the vehicle advancing direction. <P>SOLUTION: The pedestrian protective device 1 includes a pedestrian collision detection device 10, a pedestrian protective control device 11, and a vehicle height variable suspension system 12. The pedestrian collision detection device 10 detects collision of a pedestrian with a bumper 101. The pedestrian protective control device 11 determines the collision of the pedestrian based on the result of detection of the pedestrian collision detection device 10, and outputs a vehicle height raise command signal for raising the vehicle height of a vehicle 100 is output when it is determined that the pedestrian 13 is collided with the vehicle. When the vehicle height raise command signal is output, the vehicle height variable suspension system 12 raises the vehicle height of the vehicle 100.
