摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact avoidance support device for a vehicle preventing that contact avoidance support movement becomes excessive in a crossing or a right turn lane. SOLUTION: In this contact avoidance support device for the vehicle, when an oncoming vehicle is detected (S14), courses of one's own vehicle and the oncoming vehicle are predicted (S16). When the predicted courses overlap (S18), the oncoming vehicle is recognized as an obstacle, and possibility of contact with the own vehicle is decided (S20-S34). When it is decided that there is the possibility of the contact with the oncoming vehicle, it is decided whether or not the own vehicle travels in the crossing or near the crossing (S22) in the contact avoidance support device for the vehicle executing (S36) the contact avoidance support movement for supporting contact avoidance with the oncoming vehicle. When it is affirmed, the execution of the contact avoidance support movement is suppressed, that is, a contact avoidance support operation distance is set to be small to suppress the execution of the contact avoidance support movement (S24-S30).
