PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply collect files dividedly recorded in a plurality of media to one scene. SOLUTION: In dividedly recording compressed video data in an HDD 112, connection information is set to one, and after ending the recording processing of one scene, a PLB file is prepared as the backup of play item information. In copying respective compressed video data divided in a DVD disk, the PLB file also is copied, so that the recording of the divided compressed video data in the DVD disk can be discriminated, and thereafter the divided compressed video data can be easily collected to one scene in a large capacity disk or the like.
