PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which can perform as before discovery and tracking as most important ability provided by implementing a CMDB after management of configuration items is simplified so that the configuration item as the management object of the CMDB (configuration management database) can be managed appropriately. SOLUTION: A computer system for managing a plurality of configuration items includes: a repository holding a set of data indicative of a relationship, for each configuration item, between at least one predetermined attribute of the configuration item and another configuration item; and a discovery section for detecting information related to a configuration item and for detecting subsequently on the basis of at least one of a predetermined attribute and a relationship in a new set of data created from the information detected with the discovery section.
