PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standard for maintaining the compatibility of an optical pickup device used for an optical disk device. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is provides with: a main spindle hole 3 through which a main spindle disposed in an optical disk device is inserted, and in which minimum and maximum tolerance values of a diameter are defined; and a sub-spindle gap 5 which is engaged with a sub-spindle disposed in parallel to the main spindle and in which minimum and maximum tolerance values of a gap width are defined. The distance between the main spindle hole 3 and the sub-spindle gap 5 on a parallel plane parallel to an optical disk surface and a distance between the main spindle hole 3 and the sub-spindle gap 5 on a vertical plane vertical to the optical disk surface are set as prescribed values, and the diameter of the main spindle hole 3 and the gap width of the sub-spindle gap 5 are set roughly equal to each other.
