A digital image processing device and a controlling method thereof are provided to set an effect form including more than one effect, and to apply the set effect form to an image file, so that a user can easily apply various effects to the image file. An effect form setting unit(129-1) sets more than one effect in an effect form. The effect form setting unit selects an effect to be set, by an input signal of a user input unit. The effect form setting unit sets details of the selected effect. An effect form applying unit(129-2) applies the set effect form to an image file. The effect form setting unit designates and changes application order of more than one effect set by the effect form, by the input signal of the user input unit. The effect form applying unit applies the more than one effect form to the image file by the input signal.
