A variable damping force type damper is provided to block impurities in working fluid from being introducing into a damping force variable valve by mounting a filter to an inlet of a main body of the damper, thereby preventing the distribution of damping force and damage to inner parts of the valve. A variable damping force type damper includes a main body filled with working fluid for generating damping force, a damping force variable valve connected from a high pressure part to a low pressure part of the main body via an inlet and an outlet, and a filter(30) mounted to the inlet(211) for blocking impurities in the working fluid not to be introduced into the valve.
