An adaptive noise removing apparatus and an image sensor using the same are provided to perform black and white level adjustment for a corresponding image before A/D(Analog to Digital) conversion, thereby improving the definition of a gray scale. A multi-phase noise removing filter(52) removes the noise of an inputted image data and outputs the processed image data. A filter factor database(54) stores filter coefficients which are preset for a plurality of luminance levels. A filter coefficient selection unit(56) receives information about an exposure time and signal gain from an image sensor. By using the exposure time and the signal gain, the filter coefficient selection unit selects a luminance level according to a preset filter factor selection algorithm. The filter coefficient selection unit reads filter coefficients from the filter factor database according to the selected luminance level. |
