A data storing method of a portable terminal having a DMB function is provided to store only received data if a data which a user prefers is received in a state that a DMB mode is a sleep mode. A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) mode is activated(415). The EIT(Event Information Table) information of currently received first data and next received second data is confirmed(420). If the EIT information of the first data is included in the reservation information, the first data is received and stored(425,430). If the EIT information of the second data is included in the reservation information, the second data is received and stored(435,450).
