DATA-DRIVEN DATABASE PROCESSOR

The technique of a data-driven database in which the user is not required to describe overlapping instructions with no awareness of the order of describing the instruction of a program which accesses the database and the correlation between data items. A data-driven database processor includes a schema definition storage means (2) for storing the schema definition of a database (24), a derived definition storage means (3) for, if the value of a certain data item is derived by the value of another data item, storing a derived definition describing the cause-and-effect relationship, a derived definition processing means (26) for generating a trigger program (27) which makes changes to the values of the data items in a chain manner on the basis of the cause-and-effect relationship of the derived definition, and a database management system (23) for, when the changes are made to the value of the another data item having an impact on the value of the certain data item, executing the trigger program (27).
