PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigator capable of discriminating whether energy-saving operation can be performed, without having to install an exclusive display area. SOLUTION: In the navigator 10 which is equipped with a current position detecting means 12 for detecting the current position, a map memory means 13 for storing map information, a control means 11 for reading out map information, corresponding to the current position from the map memory means to display it with a current position mark indicating the current position mark on the displaying means, the navigator 10 is also equipped with an operation condition discriminating means 111 for discriminating whether suitable operation is performed, based on the output of a driving condition detecting section for detecting the driving condition of the vehicle the navigator 10 are on-board; and the controlling means 11 shifts away the indicating mode of the current position mark, based on discrimination of the operation condition discriminating means 111.
