PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a method of retrieving/displaying spatial data, to promote circulation of the spatial data. SOLUTION: This intermediary device 1 converts metadata of the spatial data provided in advance by each spatial data provider server 3 into a predetermined format and stores them. The intermediary device 1 retrieves the metadata satisfying retrieval conditions designated by a user terminal 2 from the stored metadata, and transmits the retrieval result to the user terminal 2. At this time, not only the metadata satisfying the input retrieval conditions but also the metadata satisfying only a position condition included in the input retrieval conditions are transmitted as the retrieval result. The spatial data corresponding to the metadata designated by the user terminal 2 are transmitted to the spatial data provider server 3 according to the transmitted retrieval result, and the spatial data provider server 3 transmits the spatial data to the user terminal 2.
