<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight which can realize an improvement in incident light unevenness near a light source which is a weak point of a backlight using a downward prism which can attain a high luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight is composed of at least one light source 1, a light guide plate 2, and a prism sheet 21, and the prism sheet 21 is composed of prisms of almost triangular cross section on a rear surface side of a transparent base material, and an arrangement direction of the prisms is positioned in an almost parallel with a light incident surface 2a of the light guide plate 2 and moreover the prism is arranged downward facing a light emitting surface 2c of the light guide plate 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
