PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus output heets from different sheet output orts onto a same sheet stack section, the image forming apparatus capable of suppressing deterioration in productivity when interrupting an image forming processing which does not include a post processing during an image forming processing including the post processing, and capable of preventing sheet output trouble on a sheet output tray. SOLUTION: The post processing is performed in a post processing unit 5 in parallel with processing for sheet (a-1, a-2, a-3) concerning an interrupting processing (image forming processing not including the post processing). Then, the already processed sheets (b-1, b-2) subjected to the image forming processing (two sheets binding) including the post processing are made to stand by in a second sheet output section 85 until the image forming processing not including the post processing is completed ((E)). When the sheet (a-1, a-2, a-3) concerning the interrupting processing are output to the sheet stack section 3a and the image forming processing including the post processing is restarted, the sheets (b-1, b-2) are output approximately at the same time as the restarting ((F)).
