<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector free of the risk that the contacting part of each of its contacts tumbles to the inserting direction of an object to be connected, free of buckling or breakage of contacts, and free of causing poor connection. <P>SOLUTION: The problem can be achieved as follows. In the case where the gap between the contacting part 16 and stationary part 18 of each contact 14 is 2 mm or more, an engagement part 22 is provided in the neighborhood of the stationary part 18 of the contact 14 and a locking part 34 to make engagement with the engagement part 22 is provided inside an insert hole 30 of a housing 12 in the position of the contact 14 corresponding the engagement part 22.
