EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, enabling to suppress excessive deflection of the injection flow of fuel.

SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device for the internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust pipe part 15 having a bent portion 15a formed to introduce exhaust gas from the engine near an angle portion A between an inlet end face 5a of a catalyst 5 arranged on the right downstream side and a wall face 15b on the bending-direction outer periphery side of the exhaust pipe part 15, and a fuel additive valve 23 provided so that additive to be supplied to the catalyst 5 is injected from the bending-direction outer periphery side of the bent portion 15a to the inlet end face 5a of the catalyst 5 while cutting across right over near the angle portion A. Thus, pressure is generated near the angle portion A to keep the direction of an injection flow α of fuel constant as predetermined.
