<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication unit where a length of an antenna exposed portion exposed outside of a case is estimated by detecting a predetermined physical quantity based on a variation of an electric signal processed by the communication unit and a predetermined function can be controlled corresponding to the estimated length of the antenna exposed portion. <P>SOLUTION: The portable phone 1 includes an antenna portion 90 whose length of an antenna exposed portion 97 can be varied, a communication processing portion 200 which carries out predetermined processing for electric signal from the antenna portion 90, a detection portion 210 which can detect a gain as a physical quantity caused by the length of the antenna exposed portion 97 based on a variation of electric signal processed by the communication processing portion 200, an estimation portion 220 which estimates the length of the antenna exposed portion 97 based on the gain detected by the detection portion 210, and a function control portion 230 which controls the predetermined function corresponding to the length of the antenna exposed portion 97 estimated by the estimation portion 220. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
