PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ease burdens when setting new photographing conditions, leaving photographing conditions required for a scene program function. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: a nonvolatile memory 18 storing a plurality of photographing conditions rewritably; a key inputting part 19 selecting one of the plurality of photographing conditions stored in the nonvolatile memory 18; photographing systems 11 to 13, 20, 21, 27, and 28 setting the selected photographing condition and photographing a subject image; the nonvolatile memory 18 updating and storing use frequency information in the selected photographing condition depending on a photographing operation; and a controller 16 indicating rewriting to the plurality of photographing conditions stored in the nonvolatile memory 18 according to a change of a predetermined condition which is preliminarily set, eliminating a part of the photographing conditions based on the stored contents in the nonvolatile memory 18, and alternatively receiving new photographing conditions to store them to the nonvolatile memory 18.
