<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive rubber roller suitable for an electrophotographic image forming device, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A hollow and cylindrical urethane sponge is cut to have a prescribed length, and a metal shaft is inserted into its inner circumference, to thereby manufacture an urethane rubber roller (step 1, 2). Then, a conductive liquid silicone is impregnated into the urethane sponge, mounted on a cylindrical die, and rotated at high speed (step 3, 4). The liquid silicone is material-moved to the outer peripheral side by high-speed rotation, and a film of the liquid silicone is formed between the inner peripheral surface of the die and the outer peripheral surface of the urethane sponge. Thereafter, a vulcanizing treatment is performed, and a conductive silicone film is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the urethane sponge (step 5). Since the smooth conductive silicone film is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the urethane sponge, the urethane rubber roller is converted into the conductive rubber roller having a smooth surface and heat resistance equivalent to a silicone rubber roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
