A wrapper apparatus for data transfer between an AXI matrix system and an AHB master system and a control method thereof are provided to improve the whole data transfer rate of a chip, in case of connecting a hardware block developed by the AHB master system to the AXI matrix system which is implemented in the chip to transmit data. A wrapper apparatus for data transfer between an AXI matrix system and an AHB master system includes an AHB wrapper(110) which determines whether the AHB master system is in an INCR mode from an HBURST signal transmitted from the AHB master system(100), grasps the amount of continuously transmitted data from an HWIDTH signal transmitted from the AHB master systems, generates an conversion HBURST signal according to the amount of the continuously transmitted data, and then transmits the generated signal to a bridge.
