<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow switching between a directional display mode and a non-directional display mode on one display device. <P>SOLUTION: An optical member includes: a driving electrode substrate 31 and a counter substrate 33 facing each other; an annular sealant 39 interposed between the driving electrode substrate 31 and the counter substrate 33; a lens member 35 provided on the inside of the annular sealant 39 and between the driving electrode substrate 31 and the counter substrate 33; and liquid crystal filled in a plurality of spaces formed by the driving electrode substrate 31, the counter substrate 33, the annular sealant 39, and the lens member 35.
