PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit body for an air conditioner, providing visual observation of earthing, and also providing positive earthing by contacting and fixing an earthing plate and one part of an electrical component box. SOLUTION: In the indoor unit body 1 for the air conditioner, the electrical component box 23 is provided in its interior. The electrical component box 23 comprises: a substrate base 30; a parts cover 31 facing the substrate 30 and adjacent to a heat exchanger 21 and a blower; a sub base 32 mounted to the substrate base 30 and the parts cover 31; and the earthing plate 60 fixed to a rear part of the sub base 32. The device is composed by fixing the earthing plate 60 by a screw S1 to an earthing plate fixing part 70 protruding to an exterior and connectable to the earthing plate 60 by the screw S1 in a direction in parallel with a principal plane of the earthing plate 60 of the parts cover 31.
