摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of reducing an exhaust gas pressure loss and manufacturing cost by containing a catalyst without complicating an exhaust gas route. <P>SOLUTION: In an engine exhaust gas heat recovery device 1 for recovering heat between engine exhaust gas and an engine coolant and having an engine exhaust emission control catalyst 2 contained therein, the exhaust gas recovering machine 1 such as the exhaust gas heat recovery device is constituted so that the engine exhaust emission control catalyst 2 is disposed on an exhaust gas flow route of an exhaust gas flow-in part, a part or the whole of the catalyst 2 is stored in a storage member 3 having a plurality of injection hole 30 opposing an inner wall 41 of a heat exchanger 4 on a circumference wall, and a section between an inner wall 41 of the heat exchanger 4 and an outer wall 42 of the heat exchanger 4 is used as an engine cooling water passage. A notch 21b enabling the flow of gas is formed at one or a plurality of sections of a catalyst holder 21 joined on an outer circumference of the catalyst 2.
