摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a plasm type ignition device more by restricting over-discharge after ignition. SOLUTION: This plasma type ignition device 1 is structured of an ignition plug 10 and a high-energy power source formed of a trigger discharge means 20, which comprises a power source 21, an ignition coil 23 for raising voltage of the power source 21 and an ignition coil driving circuit 24 to be controlled to be opened/closed by an electronic control device 25 so as to control drive of the ignition coil 23, and a plasma energy supply means 30, which comprises a plasma generating capacitor 33 to be charged by a power source 31. This plasma type ignition device 1 ignites an internal combustion engine 40, maintaining gas inside of a discharge space 140 in plasma condition, by applying high-voltage Vsc from the trigger discharge means 20 and supplying large current Ipl from the plasma energy supply means 30.
