PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing notification of contamination in a toilet room, which enable the automatic removal of a malodor in the toilet room, and which enable the notification to be provided when the malodor in the toilet room cannot be removed. SOLUTION: This system comprises a deodorizing device 1, a toilet bowl 4 with an automatic flushing mechanism, a notification device 2 with a notification means, and a control device 3. The control device 3 transmits a deodorizing-device actuation starting signal to the deodorizing device when a malodor level in the toilet bowl in the toilet room 9 is higher than a set malodor one, transmits a toilet-bowl flushing starting signal to the toilet bowl when the malodor level in the toilet bowl after the lapse of the first set time from that transmission is higher than the set malodor one, and transmits a notification-device actuation starting signal to the notification device in the case of the maintenance of a state in which the malodor level in the toilet bowl after the lapse of the second set time from that transmission is higher than the set malodor one.
