Enhancing a text-based message with visual assets, by inputting message text; identifying meta-tags or keywords in the message text and using algorithms to determine the relevance of stored visual assets with message text meta data. A composite message is created using the message text and the identified visual asset(s) and this composite message is transmitted. The output message may comprise solely image assets. The visual assets may be still images or animations and multiple visual assets may be combined. The text based message may be Short messaging service (SMS), Enhanced messaging service (EMS), Multimedia messaging service (MMS) or e-mail.
